Adhesive for vinil Tarkett VK800 13kg

VK 800 is a solvent-free, resin-modified acrylic adhesive that allows a long open working time. VK 800 is recommended for use with homogeneous and heterogeneous PVC rolls and tiles of greater thickness, sports flooring up to 12 mm, rubber flooring up to 4 mm thick with a smooth, polished backing and a smooth top, linoleum up to 4 mm, for installation in rooms with humidity (Tarkett's concept for walls and floors in wet rooms), as well as for walls. It can be used both with thermo-acoustic underlays and with most textile floor coverings.
VK 800's unique formula offers exceptionally strong wet-bond, while still allowing a long open working time with pressure-sensitive characteristics.

METHOD OF USE
Because of its versatility, the best installation method depends on the flooring being installed, as well as on the bond strength required.

• Wet-lay: Leave it open for at least 10 minutes. Check that the adhesive is still wet (test with a finger) before laying the floor. A longer open time is preferred for tile installation, to minimise slippage.
• Semi-wet lay: Leave the adhesive open for 45 minutes, until it forms a tacky surface that still allows easy movement. For some thin vinyl tiles and translucent vinyl, it is recommended to smooth the adhesive surface using a wool roller pre-moistened with adhesive. This can help reduce potential lines visible through the vinyl.
• Double application: For use on non-absorbent surfaces. Lift the flooring to check that both surfaces are wet. Leave to air until the adhesive loses its wetness on both the substrate and the flooring (usually 20 to 60 minutes), then carefully lay the flooring back in place without trapping air.
• Contact bonding: Apply adhesive to the substrate and the flooring using a fine notched trowel or roller. Allow to dry completely (60 to 120 minutes). Using a hot-air gun, heat the adhesive and the flooring, carefully pressing and fitting the flooring into place.

Choose the appropriate trowel size and installation method for the flooring and apply the adhesive evenly to the floor, holding the trowel at a 60o angle. Leave the adhesive for the required open time. Bond the flooring by pressing it down with a clean roller. For resilient flooring this is usually a 68 kg steel roller, while a Glyda roller should be used for textile flooring. For flooring with greater “memory” and/or curl, a second rolling after 60 minutes may be required.

Walking on the surface is allowed once the bond has dried sufficiently. This usually takes 24 hours for wet-lay methods and 6 hours for other methods. For vinyl flooring, we recommend waiting at least 24 hours after application to make sure the bond has cured. Allow the bond to cure before placing heavy objects, such as laboratory equipment, furniture or hospital beds.
