Waterproof or Water-resistant
What's the difference?

Both terms refer to a material that can protect against or repel water, yet they are still different.

With a waterproof material, water will not penetrate the flooring no matter how long it is exposed. It is usually more expensive. It can be installed in any room. It prevents moisture from the air or flooding from penetrating the flooring material.

Water-resistant flooring protects the base of the flooring from water penetration. It is usually cheaper and easy to lay in any room. It has the highest resistance class (AC5). It comes in a variety of natural-looking colours.
