What's the difference?

Both words refer to a material that can protect against or repel water, yet they are still different.

With a waterproof material, water will not penetrate the flooring, no matter how long it is exposed. It is usually more expensive. It can be installed in any room. It prevents moisture from the air or flooding from penetrating through the flooring material.

A water-resistant floor protects the base of the flooring from water penetration. It is usually cheaper and easy to install in any room. It has the highest resistance class (AC5). It comes in a variety of natural-looking colors.
