Waterproof or Water-resistant
What's the difference?

Both words refer to a material that can protect against or repel water, but they are still different.

With a waterproof material, water will not penetrate the flooring, no matter how long it sits there. It is usually more expensive. It can be installed in any room. It stops moisture from the air or flooding from getting through the flooring material.

Water-resistant flooring protects the base of the floor covering from water penetration. It is usually cheaper and easy to install in any room. It has the highest wear class (AC5). It comes in a variety of natural-looking colours.
